Concordia Defeated on the Road Against Division I Hofstra

Hempstead, N.Y. – The Concordia women's basketball team played in their third game in three days on Monday evening as the Clippers visited Division I Hofstra University. The Pride would take the game from Concordia, 101-38, at the Mack Sports Complex for their third victory of the season.

In the first half the play the first 3:30 was closely contested as there were three lead changes. After a layup for Hofstra with 16:18 remaining the Pride would take a 7-6 lead and then 13-4 run allowed the home team to take a double-digit lead at 20-10.

Following a timeout by the Clippers, the deficit would be cut to 21-14 after freshman Jessica Rosalbo (Staten Island, N.Y.) converted on both of her free throws. Hofstra would end the half on a 30-4 run to take a 58-23 lead into the locker room.

Concordia was unable to get their offense going in the second half as they did not score a point until a free throw with 11:13 remaining and would score their first field goal with 7:42 left. The Pride would go on to take the victory, 101-38 as Krystal Luciano scored a season-high 17 points as four different players for Hofstra scored career-bests during the night.

Rosalbo led the Clippers with 11 points while freshman Victoria Rubin (Staten Island, N.Y.) added nine points off the bench and a career-high 10 rebounds. Concordia shot 26.9% from the field during the game while the Pride shot 55.4% and also held a 49-35 rebounding advantage.

The game was the program's first regular season matchup against a Division I team since facing LIU Brooklyn on Dec. 12, 1990.

The Clippers (0-9, 0-2 CACC) will return home for their next game which will take place on Wednesday evening. Concordia will host Bloomfield for the first of two Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) regular season matchups.
