Clippers Fall to Saint Anselm, 74-47, at 49th Annual ESU Classic

East Stroudsburg, Pa. – The Concordia College Clippers women's basketball team concluded their two-day visit at the 49th Annual ESU Classic on Sunday afternoon with a matchup against Saint Anselm. Concordia would fall to the Hawks, 74-47, as the Clippers have now dropped their last eight games to begin the season.

Saint Anselm began the first half with an early 11-4 lead but Concordia used a 4-0 run to get within three points midway through the half. The Hawks would use 14 unanswered points to take a 34-17 advantage with 3:42 remaining on the clock. The Clippers then allowed 11 straight points to end the period as Saint Anselm went into the locker room with a 45-20 lead.

In the second half the Hawks opened up a 30 point advantage midway through the period in the midst of a 10-0 run. Concordia was unable to cut into their deficit in the latter portion of the half as Saint Anselm would go on to take a 74-47 win, their fifth of the season.

Freshman Jessica Rosalbo (Staten Island, N.Y.) led the Clippers with 12 points and three assists while junior Selbe Lo (Dakar, Senegal, Africa) added a season-high 10 points and a career-high 15 rebounds off the bench for her first double-double of the season. Lo would also be named to the All-Tournament Team as Saint Anselm shot 38.0% from the field on the afternoon while Concordia shot 28.6%.

The Clippers (0-8, 0-2 CACC) will next visit Hofstra University tomorrow evening in the team's first regular season matchup against a Division I team since facing LIU Brooklyn on Dec. 12, 1990.
