Concordia Upended by Dominican (N.Y.), 70-47

Orangeburg, N.Y. – The Concordia College women's basketball team got back to their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) schedule on Wednesday evening with a North Division game against the Dominican (N.Y.) Chargers. The Clippers were unable to snap an 11-game win-less streak against Dominican as the Chargers would earn a 70-47 victory at the Hennessy Center.

Concordia began the opening half with an early lead following a three-point play by freshman Rebecca Gordon (Patchogue, N.Y.) to give the Clippers a 7-6 lead with 16:06 on the clock. Dominican then went on an 8-0 run to open up a seven point advantage. Fifteen unanswered points by the Chargers would give the home team a 38-18 lead with just under four minutes to play in the half. Concordia responded with a 7-2 run to end the half but the Clippers would trail 40-25.

In the second half Dominican began with an 11-2 run over the first five minutes of play to open their advantage to 51-27. Concordia used a 12-5 run to cut their deficit down to 65-42 but the Chargers would hold off the Clippers to capture their first CACC win of the season, 70-47.

Freshman Jessica Rosalbo (Staten Island, N.Y.) led Concordia with a career-high 14 points while adding four rebounds and two assists. Freshman Victoria Rubin (Staten Island, N.Y.) came off the bench to score seven points, add five rebounds, and two steals while junior Selbe Lo (Dakar, Senegal, Africa) added six points and six rebounds in her Clipper debut. Concordia out-rebounded Dominican 57-41 but the Chargers' bench outscored the Clippers' bench 70-17.

Concordia (0-6, 0-2 CACC) will have 10 days off until their next game. The Clippers will participate in the 49th Annual East Stroudsburg Classic beginning on Saturday, Nov. 30th.
