Women's Basketball Falls in First Game of Assumption Tip Off Classic to #7 Stonehill

Worcester, Mass. – The Concordia College women's basketball team traveled to Massachusetts this weekend to participate in the Assumption College Tip Off Classic. The Clippers took on No. 7 Stonehill College in their first game on Saturday evening as the Skyhawks defeated Concordia, 96-37.

Stonehill would score the first nine points of the game as the Clippers called a timeout to regroup. The Skyhawls would open up a 30-4 advantage midway through the period as Concordia would respond with a 9-8 scoring advantage during the next two minute of play. At the half the Clippers trailed 62-18 as Stonehill shot 55.6% from the field which included 10 three-point baskets.

In the second half the Skyhawks continued to hold on to their advantage as Stonehill would go on to earn their second victory of the season, 96-37. Concordia was out shot in the game 24.2% to 43.1% and the Skyhawks also held a 59-34 advantage in rebounds.

Freshman Jessica Rosalbo (Staten Island, N.Y.) led the Clippers with nine points while adding four rebounds while freshman Victoria Rubin (Staten Island, N.Y.) added six points off the bench.

Concordia (0-4, 0-1 CACC) will take on the hosts of the tournament, Assumption, tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. to conclude their weekend. Fans unable attend the game can follow the action via the live stats and live video links on ConcordiaClippers.com.
