Clippers' Win Streak Snapped Following 58-38 Defeat at Chestnut Hill

Philadelphia, Pa. – The Concordia women's basketball team traveled to face Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foe Chestnut Hill College on Saturday afternoon. The Clippers entered the game with a four-game winning streak but the Griffins would be the team to prevail, snapping a five-game losing streak, after a 58-38 win over Concordia.

The Clippers opened up the game with a 10-6 lead midway through the first half as neither team could knock down shots in the early going. Chestnut Hill would score 14 unanswered points to take a 24-14 lead with the 5:55 remaining on the clock. Concordia ended the half outscoring the Griffins 5-2 but would go into the half trailing 26-17.

Chestnut Hill would use their three-point shooting in the second half to open up a 23 point lead with 12:42 remaining. The Clippers would cut their deficit to 16 points but the Griffins would not let Concordia get any closer and secured a 58-38 victory. Chestnut Hill's win was their first conference win of the season while the Clippers dropped their eighth loss in CACC play.

Sophomore Megan Burns (Staten Island, N.Y.) led Concordia with 10 points while adding three rebounds and three steals. Junior Victoria Jones (Staten Island, N.Y.) would add eight points and a team-high nine rebounds as the Clippers shot a season-low 18.9% (10-of-53) from the field.

Concordia (6-15, 5-8 CACC) will return to the court on Wednesday evening to host Bloomfield College at 5pm in the Meyer Athletic Center. Fans unable to attend the game can follow the action via Live Stats and Live Video on ConcordiaClippers.com.
