Concordia Splits Season Series with Post after an 84-70 Victory

Bronxville, N.Y. – The Clippers women's basketball team battled Post University at the Meyer Athletic Center on Tuesday evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) matchup. Concordia used a 16-0 run over the last 4:15 to secure an 84-70 win and split the season series with the Eagles.

Post would jump out to an early 7-0 advantage as the Clippers responded with 10 unanswered points to take the lead. Concordia used back-to-back three-point baskets midway through the half to take a 23-18 lead. The Eagles would showcase their three-point shooting display to grab a six point advantage but the Clippers would battle back as both teams went into the locker room tied 35-35.

In the second half the score would remain close as neither team could grab an advantage. Post would hold a 59-52 lead with 9:02 remaining as Concordia slowly cut into the deficit. A 7-0 run for the Clippers would give them a 68-67 lead with 4:26 on the clock. The Eagles would only score once more in the game as Concordia ended the game on a 16-0 run to secure an 84-70 victory over Post. The win snaps a six-game losing streak against the Eagles as the last victory for the Clippers in the head-to-head match came back on Jan 19th, 2010.

Senior Krystina Agard (Queens, N.Y.) led Concordia with 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field while junior Victoria Jones (Staten Island, N.Y.) added 15 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. Sophomore Mariah Berry (Southington, Conn.) came off to bench to add 14 points while sophomore Megan Burns (Staten Island, N.Y.) recorded 13 points and senior Sade Jones (Patterson, N.J.) dropped 11 points. The Clippers held a 53-39 rebounding advantage while shooting 28-of-65 (43.1%) from the field.
