Clippers Snap Six-Game Losing Streak after an 80-60 Conference Win over Nyack

Bronxville, N.Y. – The Concordia women's basketball team returned home for the first time since November to face Nyack College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) matchup on Saturday afternoon. The Clippers would put on a show for the fans as they scored a season-high 80 points and took a 20-point victory over the Warriors, 80-60, to snap a six-game losing streak.

Nyack would jump out to an early 6-0 lead but Concordia responded with six unanswered points of their own to tie the score. The Clippers would slowly open up a lead midway through the half as a 6-0 run gave Concordia a 31-22 advantage with 5:28 left in the period. The Clippers would end the final 2:30 with three three-point baskets to go into the locker room with a 45-37 lead.

In the second half Concordia would keep a double-digit lead as the Warriors could not cut into the deficit. The Clippers used a 12-3 run which included back-to-back three-point baskets to hold a 68-51 advantage with 8:00 left. Concordia would use their strong free-throw shooting late in the game to seal an 80-60 victory and sweep the season series against Nyack.

Senior Krystina Agard (Queens, N.Y.) led the Clippers with 20 points on 7-of-13 shooting from the field while also adding a team-high 10 rebounds. Senior Sade Jones (Patterson, N.J.) added 17 points, four rebounds and three assists while sophomore Megan Burns (Staten Island, N.Y.) recorded 16 points and junior Victoria Jones (Staten Island, N.Y.) chipped in with 15 points. Concordia connected on 11 three-point baskets in the game and held a 15-3 advantage in fast break points.

The Clippers (3-14, 2-7 CACC) will next host Post University in a CACC North Division game on Tuesday. Tip off is set for 5pm in the Meyer Athletic Center as fans unable to attend the game can follow the action via Live Stats and Live Video on ConcordiaClippers.com.
