Clippers Upended in CACC Play, 75-61, at USciences

Philadelphia, Pa. – The Concordia women's basketball team got back to their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) schedule on Saturday afternoon at the University of the Sciences Devils. The Clippers were unable to lead in the game, falling to USciences 75-61 at the Morgan Arena.

Concordia would fall behind 11-2 in the opening minutes but three-point basket in their next two possessions would cut the deficit to only five points. The Clippers would not score another point for the next 5:32 as the Devils rallied off 11 unanswered points to take a 24-8 lead. Concordia would go into the locker room trailing 39-24.

In the second half USciences would take a 21-point lead after four straight points as the Clippers were unable to put together any scoring runs. Concordia would score 16 of their 37 second half points from the foul line but it would not be enough as the Clippers suffered their 13th loss of the season, 75-61.

Sophomore Megan Burns (Staten Island, N.Y.) led Concordia with 15 points which included three three-point baskets. Senior Sade Jones (Patterson, N.J.) added 14 points in only 19 minutes of action while senior Krystina Agard (Queens, N.Y.) recorded 12 points and a season-high 15 rebounds. The Clippers were outscored in the paint, 30-18, and shot 24.6% (17-of-69) from the field.

Concordia (2-13, 1-6 CACC) will be on the road again for their next contest on Wednesday evening. The Clippers will the Chargers of Dominican College in Orangeburg, N.Y. for the final time during the regular season.
