Clippers Drop 71-41 Decision at NYIT in Non-Conference Action

Old Westbury, N.Y. – The Concordia women's basketball team traveled to face NYIT in a non-conference game on Thursday evening. The Clippers would shoot a season-low 20.3 % (12-59) from the field as the Bears would remain undefeated following a 71-41 victory for their seventh win of the season.

NYIT jumped out to an early 14-1 lead to begin the game as Concordia did not score a field goal until the 14:48 mark. The Clippers would cut into their deficit and get within five points at 23-18 with 6:08 left in the half. The Bears would end the half scoring six unanswered points as NYIT went into the locker room with a 29-18 lead.

The Bears would continue their hot streak in the opening minutes of the second half as NYIT went on a 21-2 run to take a 30-point lead at 50-20. Concordia was unable to get back into the game as the Bears went on to a 71-41 win.

Senior Krystina Agard (Queens, N.Y.) led Concordia with a team-high 11 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals in 37 minutes of action. Sophomore Megan Burns (Staten Island, N.Y.) came off the bench to score 10 points in 18 minutes as the Clippers were out-rebounded 64-38.

Concordia (2-9, 1-4 CACC) will return to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action on Saturday on the road against Holy Family. The Clippers will take to the court of the Campus Center in Philadelphia, Pa. at 1pm as fans unable to attend can follow the action via Live Stats and Live Video on ConcordiaClippers.com.
