Concordia Falls in Home Opener to Dominican, 64-53

Bronxville, N.Y. – The Concordia women's basketball team took on Dominican (N.Y.) College in their home and Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opener on Wednesday evening. The Clippers would commit 27 turnovers which led to the Chargers taking a 64-53 win.

The game would begin with neither team gaining an advantage until an 8-0 run by Dominican gave them a 21-14 lead with 9:54 remaining in the half. At the 5:38 mark the Chargers would take a double digit lead as Concordia trailed 34-24 at halftime.

The Clippers would cut their deficit to single digits early in the second half but Dominican would 7-0 run to keep their double digit lead at 60-43. Concordia ended the game on an 8-2 run but it would not be enough as the Chargers captured their second victory of the season, 64-53.

Senior Krystina Agard (Queens, N.Y.) led the Clippers in scoring with 18 points and four assists. She also added four rebounds, two steals and a block in 36 minutes of action. Senior Sade Jones (Patterson, N.J.) added 15 points, three rebounds and two steals.

Concordia (0-3, 0-1 CACC) will be on the road this Saturday in a non-conference game against Bridgeport. The Clippers will take to the court of Hubbell Gym at 12pm as fans unable to attend can follow the action via the Live Stats link on ConcordiaClippers.com.
