Concordia Falls at Home, 80-68 to Caldwell

Bronxville, NY – The Concordia College Clippers women's basketball took on Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foe Caldwell College this evening. The Cougars were able to edge the Clippers in regulation, 80-68, for their fourth win of the season.

Concordia began the game on a 9-2 run only to have Caldwell take the lead after a 10-0 run of their own. The Clippers fell behind by double digits with 9:05 remaining in the half after the Cougars hit a three-point shot.

Caldwell went on a 12-0 run to extend their lead to 20 with 5:37 to go in the half. Concordia managed to cut the deficit to only 13 as the Cougars went into the locker room with a 39-26 lead.

The Clippers cut Caldwell's lead to single digits after a three-point basket by junior Sade Jones (Patterson, NJ) 90 seconds into the half. After a layup by junior Krystina Agard (Queens, NY), Concordia trailed by five points which forced the Cougars to call a timeout.

Caldwell extended their lead to 15 after the timeout but the Clippers battled their way back to only a five point deficit with 9:52 to go. Concordia would stick around on the scoreboard until five minutes remained in the game as the Cougars went on a 9-0 run to put the game away.

Agard led the Clippers with 20 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field and 7-of-8 from the foul line. Agard also added six assists, three rebounds, two blocks and a steal. Mariah Berry (Southington, CT) came off the bench to score a career-high 15 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field and chipped in with five rebounds and two steals. As a team, Concordia shot 37.7% (23-of-61) from the field while being outrebounded 47-30.

The Clippers (2-8, 1-3 CACC) will be back in action on Saturday for another conference game. Concordia will travel to Georgian Court University for a 12pm game in Lakewood, NJ.
