Blakemore leads Clippers with Triple-Double

The Clippers returned home from their road trip tonight as they hosted the Georgian Court University Lions in a CACC showdown.  The Clippers  started a little slow with the Lions in the beginning as the Lions went on an 11-4 run in the first five minutes of play.  The Clippers were able to work back and tie the game up but they stayed just one step behind the Lions.  The Clippers then ran into more struggles as the Lions took another scoring run to go up 32-21 with 4:04 left in the half.  The Clippers continued to work in the final minutes of the half and were able to cut the deficit down to six at the end of the half.  The Clippers trailed the Lions 33-39 heading into the locker room.

The Clippers opened the second half up with a 9-0 in the first five minutes as they finally claimed the lead over the Lions.  The Clippers continued to hold a lead but the Lions were nipping at their heels for the next several minutes.  The Lions kept the Clippers lead short until the last few minutes when the Clippers struck hard and extended their lead into double digits.  The Clippers remained on top until the end of the game as they claimed their second CACC win of the season with a 73-58 victory over the Lions.

Chanessa Blakemore topped the charts as she posted a triple-double of 20 points, 20 rebounds, and 12 blocks in her game while she shot 7-9 from the field.  Krystina Agard posted 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists while Tara-Ann Rock posted 12 points and 3 assists.

The Clippers will host the Philadelphia University Rams this Saturday, January 29th at 1:00pm.
