Clippers fall in final seconds against Warriors

The Clippers headed to face-off against the Nyack College Warriors in their first game of the new year.  The Clippers started things off well as they opened the game with an 8-0 scoring run within the first three and half minutes.  The Warriors picked up their game and started to cut the Clippers lead down.  The Clippers continued to play well as they matched the Warriors baskets to hold the lead.  The Clippers continued to push through the rest of the half and at the end of the first half the Clippers were up by six; 30-24.

The Clippers continued with knocking down buckets as they started things off in the second half.   The Warriors came back in the next few minutes as they were forced the Clippers to turnover the ball.  The Clippers caught a second wind and regained their composure as they extended their lead once more over the Warriors.  With the Clippers lead at eight points the Warriors pressured them and started to cut the Clippers lead.  The Warriors found a way to tie the game up at 49-49 with 8:47 left in the game.  A few moments later the Clippers saw the lead of the game switch to the Warriors hands.  As the Warriors extended their lead over the Clippers, the Clippers started to rush their shots.  After a quick time-out the Clippers regained themselves and worked back to within two with just 1:38 left on the clock.  The final minute and half the Clippers were unable to find a shot and the Warriors took the game 66-61. 

Krystina Agard posted 17 points for the game while Khea Gibbs topped out at 14 points along with 9 rebounds and 6 assists. 

The Clippers return home to host the Goldey-Beacom College Lightning on Saturday, January 8th at 1:00pm.
