The Clippers hosted the Bloomfield College Deacons in CACC action this afternoon. The Deacons and the Clippers battled back and forth in the first six minutes of play as each team pressed the other on defense. The Deacons pushed ahead with a 12-3 scoring run over the Clippers over the next seven minutes. With almost a three minute run where neither team scored, the Clippers continued to struggle. With just six points scored until the end of the half the Clippers trailed the Deacons 20-37 heading into the locker room.
The Clippers started the second half off flat and were continuing to run into turnover trouble against the Deacons. The Deacons continued to press the Clippers and extended their lead. Though the Clippers started to grab points the Deacons halted them in their tracks and the Clippers fell to the Deacons 58-88.
Chanessa Blakemore posted 9 rebounds with 3 blocks for her defensive game. Krystina Agard added 11 points with 4 assists while Shelley Monahan topped off with 17 points.
The Clippers will face off at Pace University on Saturday, December 18th.
