Clippers falter in CACC opener to Golden Falcons

The Clippers opened their 2010 CACC season as they headed down to Rutherford, New Jersey.  The Golden Falcons opened things up as they took the early lead over the Clippers 15-4.  The Clippers then kicked into gear as they went on a 14-5 scoring run with the help of Amanda Eggink and Shelley Monahan.  With a jumper by Katie Nikosey and a layup from Khea Gibbs the Clippers took the lead.  As both teams went back and forth through the rest of the first half the Golden Falcons would be on top heading into the locker room.

The Clippers started the second half trailing 39-44 and immediately cut their lead with a good jumper from Katie Nikosey.  Though the Clippers continued to play hard, the Golden Falcons maintained the lead through out the half.  At the end of regulation the Clippers fell 67-80.

Shelley Monahan posted as the top Clipper scorer with 16 points and added 5 rebounds and 3 steals.  Khea Gibbs knocked down 15 points while Tara Ann Rock and Krystina Agard put up 10 points a piece.  Chanessa Blakemore hit the boards with 8 rebounds while Agard matched her effort.

The Clippers will head to NYIT on Monday, December 6th
