Clippers have rough first start in season opener

The Clippers traveled to Southern New Hampshire University to face off in their season opener against the Lady Penmen.  The Clippers had a slow start to their game as they fell behind in the first ten minutes of the half 15-5.  The Lady Penmen continued to dominate on the court over the Clippers.  The Clippers started to put some points on the board but the Lady Penmen held their lead through the end of the half.

The Clippers found themselves down 40-18 to start the second half.  Alease Vaughn tacked two points on the board with a jumper two minutes into the half.  Khea Gibbs then hit back to back layups for four more points for the Clippers.  The Lady Penmen continued their game from the first half as they answered the Clippers points with more of their own.  The Clippers then started to struggle to score as turnovers and unfortunate missed shots plagued their offense.  At the end of the game the Clippers fell to the Lady Penmen 71-38.

Freshman Katie Nikosey posted 16 points to lead the Clippers on the offense while Chanessa Blakemore nabbed 7 boards.

The Clippers will head to St. Anselm's College tomorrow, Sunday, November 14th for a 2:00pm game.
