Bronxville, NY - Monahan leads Clippers in close knit game with Golden Falcons

The Lady Clippers opened up their first CACC game hosting the Felician College Golden Falcons.  With the Golden Falcons taking control from the start the Clippers fell behind quickly.  The Clippers, faced with being down 10-1 to start the game, turned on the after burners and shifted into the next gear fighting their way back into the game.  Ten minutes into the game the Clippers were able to over turn the Golden Falcons and claim the lead as their own.  From then on it was a back and forth battle between the two teams as both wanted to be on top.  By the end of the half the Clippers found themselves just one point down from the Golden Falcons, 31-30.

Back and forth the second half game started out to be between both teams.  The Golden Falcons took a small lead here or there but found that the Clippers were right behind ready to clip their wings.  The Clippers fell late in the game behind the Golden Falcons, down 7 points with a little over three minutes to play.  The Clippers pushed themselves more and were able to cut the deficit to one but with a few good free throws the Golden Falcons took the lead for the last time.  The Clippers fell 62-66 in their first CACC game.

Shelley Monahan led with 21 points, 4 rebounds and 2 blocks.  Kayla Koch was not too far behind with 16 points and 5 rebounds along with Brittany Binnie who put up 14 points and 7 assists on the night.

The Clippers will continue their CACC play this week visiting Dominican College this Thursday, December 10th for a 6:00pm game.
