Concordia Softball Drops a Pair of CACC Games at Jefferson

PHILADELPHIA – The Concordia Clippers softball team traveled to Jefferson University on Wednesday afternoon for a pair of Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) games. Concordia was unable to grab a road victory as the Rams took 2-0 wins in both games.

Game one saw both teams remain scoreless until the bottom of the sixth as a two-run home run for Jefferson gave the home team the 2-0 lead. The Clippers were held to only two hits as the Rams took game one, 2-0. Sophomore Shayla Peterson (Bethlehem, Pa.) was tagged with the loss as she allowed two earned runs on six hits while striking out three batters in the complete game.

In the second game the only runs scored by Jefferson would come in the bottom of the fourth after a double drove in both runs. Concordia was held to only two hits in the game as the Rams would also take game two by a score of 2-0. Senior Sarah Ross (Dunmore, Pa.) pitched the complete game for the Clippers as she allowed two earned runs on six hits while striking out a batter.

Concordia (4-6, 2-2 CACC) will be home for their next six games in a row beginning on Thursday, April 5th.
