Men’s And Women’s Cross Country Open Season At Baruch Invitational On Sunday

2019 Cross Country Season Preview

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Concordia College New York men's and women's cross country teams participate in their first meets of the 2019 season on Sunday, Sept. 8 at the Baruch Invitational. The women will run in a 6K at 9 a.m., followed by the men's 8K at 10 a.m.

About the Women's Cross Country Team
The women's cross country returns two of its top contributors from last season in senior Yeisy Cruz and sophomore Irene Pirn. Cruz was the top finisher for Concordia four times last season, including the 2018 Baruch Invitational, while Pirn was the second Clipper to cross the finish line three times. Senior Taylor Scruggs rounds out the returners on the women's side, with junior Carly Acuña and freshman Leah Dillon running in their first meet on Sunday.

About the Men's Cross Country Team
On the men's side, senior Andrew Medina and junior Kyle Parris represent the only returners from last year's unit. Joining the tandem in 2019 are junior Hermes Abreu, senior Kendell Luquis, freshman Louis Sedlacek and freshman Noel Vasquez.
