Men’s Tennis Climbs Up In National Rankings

 BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its latest Division II National Polls on Wednesday afternoon, with the Concordia College New York men's tennis team moving up in the National Rankings for the fifth-consecutive week to currently sit 27th in the country.

Concordia, the 2019 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Regular Season Champions and top-ranked in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) East Regional Poll, is 15-3 overall this season, ending its CACC schedule without a loss for the ninth time in program history after blanking then-ranked 50th Chestnut Hill College 7-0 on Wednesday, April 17. Concordia is 1-1 against teams currently ranked, defeating No. 41 Grand Valley State University 4-3 on Mar. 7 while falling against No. 5 Flagler 4-3 on Mar. 8

In the National Singles Poll, sophomore Michele Fenoaltea (Rome, Italy) dropped to No. 60. The CACC All-Conference First Team honoree holds a 19-2 overall record, defeating Chestnut Hill's Tom Pitchley at the top singles position in Concordia's lone match last week.

Within the National Doubles Poll, Fenoaltea and freshman Maximilian Grundmann are the Clippers' lone representation with the 50th ranking. The duo bested Kai Adler and Jesus Darias on the third court in Wednesday's match to improve to 10-0 as a pairing.

The men's tennis team hosts Chestnut Hill in the CACC Championship Finals on Saturday, April 27 with first serve scheduled for 12 p.m.
