Fenoaltea Named CACC Player Of The Week, Godfrey Seno Named Rookie Of The Week In Men’s Tennis Sweep

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) released its weekly awards on Monday afternoon, with No. 28 Concordia College New York men's tennis sophomore Michele Fenoaltea (Rome, Italy) earning Player Of The Week honors while freshman Jan Godfrey Seno (Cebu City, Philippines) received Rookie of the Week distinction.

Fenoaltea went undefeated against No. 50 Chestnut Hill College in the Clippers' lone match last week, besting Kai Adler and Jesus Darias 7-5 on the third doubles court alongside freshman Maximilian Grundmann (Schwerte, Germany) in the 48th-ranked duo nationally before defeating Tom Pitchley 6-3, 6-2 at the top singles position.

Ranked 53rd in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) National Singles Poll and a part of two nationally-ranked doubles pairings, Fenoaltea leads the Clippers behind 36 combined victories including a 19-2 overall mark in singles action and 17-4 record in doubles.

It is Fenoaltea's fourth honor from the conference, garnering Player of the Month distinction in October with one Player of the Week nod this season and one Rookie of the Week plaudit last year.

Godfrey Seno won both his matches against CHC on Wednesday, evening the series against fellow freshman Pitchley in a 6-2 triumph against him and Erik Jorsal at the top doubles flight with sophomore William Nilsson (Bastad, Sweden) before outlasting Jorsal at the fourth singles slot 6-2, 6-1.

Godfrey Seno matches Fenoaltea with 19 victories in singles play, going a perfect 16-0 during the spring on top of a 13-5 overall record in doubles play with eight triumphs at the top doubles position.

It is Godfrey Seno's second accolade from the league, earning Rookie of the Week honors once earlier this season.

Concordia, the 2019 CACC Men's Tennis Regular Season Champions, awaits the winner of the CACC Championship First Round match in the Finals on Saturday, April 27 at the Meyers Tennis Center with first serve slatted for 12 p.m.
