Chevalier Goes Undefeated At Top Positions For Men’s Tennis In 7-0 Victory At USciences

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Senior Eymeric Chevalier (Bordeux, France) went undefeated at the No. 35 Concordia College New York men's tennis team's top singles and doubles positions on Tuesday evening, leading the Clippers past the University of the Sciences 7-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play.  

NOTES
• Concordia improves to 13-3, 7-0 in CACC action.

• USciences falls to 3-12, 0-6 in league play.

• Concordia has now won its last eight matches 7-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
• Sophomore William Nilsson (Bastad, Sweden) and freshman Jan Godfrey Seno (Cebu City, Philippines) outlasted Nathan Nguyen and Jack Kosiorowski at the second doubles flight 6-4.

• Sophomore Michele Fenoaltea (Rome, Italy) and freshman Maximilian Grundmann (Schwerte, Germany) bested Sahas Chandragiri and Evan Halperin 6-3 on the third court.

• Senior Chevalier and sophomore Henry Masters (Southampton, England) prevailed 7-6 against Borna Markusic and Borna Novak in a back-and-fourth match at the top doubles slot that came down to a 7-5 tiebreaker triumph to complete the doubles sweep.

• Nilsson blanked Novak 6-0, 6-0 at the third singles position.

• Chevalier outlasted Markusic 6-2, 6-4 at the top spot.

• 24th-ranked Fenoaltea bested Kosiorowski 6-2, 6-3 at the second slot.

• Senior Lars Olson (Chatham, N.Y.) defeated Rakesh Chamala 6-2, 6-1 on court six.

• Godfrey Seno took the opener from Nguyen on court four 6-2 before his USciences counterpart forcing a third set behind a 6-3 decision with the freshman remaining undefeated this spring in singles action behind a 10-6 tiebreaker victory.

• Sophomore Tomer Mendler (Tel Aviv, Israel) outlasted Chandragiri 7-5 in the opening set at the fifth flight before taking the second 6-2.

UP NEXT
The men's tennis team returns to the Meyers Tennis Center to host Queens College (N.Y.) in non-conference play on Wednesday, April 10 with first serve scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
