Men’s Tennis Blanks Jefferson, 7-0

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Freshman Nicolas Sitaras (Somers, N.Y.) won his first collegiate Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubles match on Saturday afternoon alongside senior Lars Olson (Chatham, N.Y.), with the No. 35 Concordia College New York men's tennis team defeating host Jefferson University 7-0 in the Clippers' seventh-consecutive shutout victory.

NOTES
• Concordia improves to 12-3, 6-0 in CACC action.

• Jefferson falls to 5-7, 1-4 in league play.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
• Olson and Sitaras bested Christopher Machuzak and Alex Riccio 6-1 at the third doubles position.

• Senior Eymeric Chevalier (Bordeaux, France) and sophomore Henry Masters (Southampton, England) outlasted Marco Janjusic and Joao Pedro 6-2 on court two.

• Sophomore William Nilsson (Bastad, Sweden) and freshman Jan Godfrey Seno (Cebu City, Philippines) prevailed at the top doubles slot over Liviu Trifoi and Odissey Kavak 6-4.

• Nilsson cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 decision against Janjusic at the second singles flight.

• Godfrey Seno outlasted Kavak 6-1, 6-0 at the fourth position.

• Freshman Maximilian Grundmann (Schwerte, Germany) posted 6-1 and 6-0 scores over Machuzak at the fifth spot.

• Playing in a pro-set, sophomore Tomer Mendler (Tel Aviv, Israel) blanked Riccio at the sixth position.

• After winning his opening set on court three 6-4, Pedro forced a third set behind a 6-2 second frame with Masters prevailing in the tiebreaker 10-3.

• Sophomore Michele Fenoaltea (Rome, Italy), the 24th-ranked singles player, prevailed in his opening set on court one 7-6 before taking the second 6-2.

The men's tennis team concludes its current three-game road swing on Tuesday, April 9 at the University of the Sciences for a 5:30 p.m. conference tilt.
