Fenoaltea Named CACC Men’s Tennis Player Of The Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) released its weekly awards on Monday afternoon, with Concordia College New York sophomore Michele Fenoaltea (Rome, Italy) earning Men's Tennis Player of the Week honors.

Fenoaltea went undefeated for the 20th-ranked Clippers in singles play over four matches in Orlando, Fla., last week, going 3-0 with one match unfinished. The 10th-ranked individual in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) National Singles Rankings won his final two outings in a super tiebreaker via a 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 triumph over Jack Geissler from Grand Valley State on court two to clinch the match for Concordia on Thursday, Mar. 7 and a 6-4, 6-7, 1-0 victory over Luca Bolla of No. 15 Flagler at the third position on Friday, Mar. 8.

In doubles, Fenoaltea went 2-2 with a 6-0 victory against Max Francis and Reb Mariono from Assumption College on Monday, Mar. 4 alongside senior Eymeric Chevalier (Bordeaux, France) and a 6-4 win over Lukas Storck and Konstantin Dustmann of Flagler with freshman Maximilian Grundmann (Schwerte, Germany)

For the season, Fenoaltea leads the Clippers with 20 combined wins, boasting a team-high 12 singles triumphs and eight in doubles that matches Chevalier.

It is Fenoaltea's third honor from the conference, garnering Player of the Month distinction in October and Rookie of the Week once last year.

The men's tennis team begins CACC play on Saturday, Mar. 16 against Jefferson University with first serve slatted for 3 p.m.
