Men’s Tennis Falls To Flagler In Battle Of Nationally-Ranked Teams, 4-3

ORLANDO, Fla. – Sophomores Michele Fenoaltea (Rome, Italy) and William Nilsson (Bastad, Sweden) and freshman Jan Godfrey Seno (Cebu City, Philippines) all prevailed in super-tiebreaker thrillers on Friday afternoon, but the No. 20 Concordia College New York men's tennis team fell in a matchup of nationally-ranked programs to No. 15 Flagler College 4-3.

NOTES
• Concordia falls to 5-3.

• Flagler improves to 6-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
• Fenoaltea and freshman Maximilian Grundmann (Schwerte, Germany) defeated Lukas Stork and Konstantin Dutsmann 6-4 at the top doubles position.

• Godfrey Seno and Nilsson fell at the second doubles slot to Felip Carvalho and Rasmus Johnsson 6-4.

• With the doubles point on the line, senior Eymeric Chevalier (Bordeaux, France) and sophomore Henry Masters (Northampton, England) fell to Luca Bolla and Daniel Arrien 7-5.

• Masters fell in singles action 6-3, 6-3 against Johnson on court two.

• Grundmann recovered from a 6-1 opening set to force the super tiebreaker at the sixth slot behind a 6-4 result only for Arrien to take the point.

• Flagler clinched the match result with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Chevalier at the top position.

• Following a 7-5 loss in the opening set at the fifth flight, Godfrey Seno forced the super tiebreaker against Burrows with a 6-2 frame before winning the point.

• Playing from behind following a 6-4 opening frame, Nilsson won the second set on court four 6-3 before winning the super tiebreaker.

• Fenoaltea won his opening set 6-4 at the third spot before Bolla forced the super tiebreaker behind a 7-6 second frame with Fenoaltea prevailing in the competitive tiebreaker battle.

The men's tennis team begins Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play on Saturday, Mar. 16 against Jefferson University with first serve slatted for 3 p.m.
