Men’s Tennis Rallies For 4-3 Triumph Over Grand Valley State

ORLANDO, Fla. – Trailing 3-0 Thursday afternoon against Grand Valley State University, the No. 20 Concordia College New York men's tennis team won four-consecutive singles matches with the final two coming from sophomore Michele Fenoaltea (Rome, Italy) and freshman Maximilian Grundmann (Schwerte, Germany) via super tiebreaker triumphs to defeat the Lakers 4-3.

NOTES
• Concordia improves to 5-2.

• Grand Valley State falls to 8-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
• The seventh-ranked duo of senior Eymeric Chevalier (Bordeaux, France) and Fenoaltea fell at the top doubles slot 6-2 to Sebastien Lescoulie and DJ Colantone.

• The Lakers clinched the doubles point behind a 6-3 decision over sophomore Henry Masters (Northampton, England) and Max Grundmann (Schwerte, Germany) on court three.

• Sophomore William Nilsson (Bastad, Sweden) and freshman Jan Godfrey Seno (Cebu City, Philippines) were tied with Jack eissler and Martin Matov 5-5 at the second position before the match was called.

• Chevalier fell at the first singles slot 6-2, 6-3 against Lescoulie.

• Masters fell in two competitive sets, 7-6, 7-5 on court three to Dausman.

• Nilsson earned Concordia its first point of the match behind a 6-4, 6-4 triumph over Matov at the fourth flight

• Godfrey Seno outlasted Eric Zwemer 6-3, 6-2 on court five.

• With both sides taking 6-4 sets at the sixth slot, Grundmann won his super tiebreaker over Urban.

• Fenoaltea won his opening set 6-3 at the second position, with Geissler forcing the super tiebreaker against the seventh-ranked singles player behind a 6-4 second set score.
