Men’s Tennis Hosts St. Francis Brooklyn Saturday

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The No. 21 Concordia College New York men's tennis team continues its season-opening stretch against NCAA Division I opposition on Saturday, Feb. 9 when St. Francis Brooklyn comes to the Meyers Tennis Center in the Clippers' home opener. First serve is scheduled for 4:45 p.m.

About the Clippers
Concordia (0-1) plays its first game at the Meyers Tennis Center this season, where the Clippers have won 13-straight matches and 90 of its last 92 dating back to the 2006-07 campaign, after falling in its season opener at the University of Delaware 5-2 on Sunday, Feb. 3. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) released its 2019 Men's Tennis Preseason Coaches' Poll this morning, with the Clippers unanimously voted as the favorites to win the league.

Sophomore William Nilsson (Bastad, Sweden) and freshman Jan Godfrey Seno (Cebu City, Philippines) both have one dual-match victory in singles action this spring, while 10th-ranked sophomore Michele Fenoaltea (Rome, Italy) holds a team-leading eight triumphs in singles action and six in doubles play alongside senior Eymeric Chevalier (Bordeaux, France) in the seventh-ranked doubles duo nationally.

About the Terriers
St. Francis (0-1) travels to Bronxville for its first match of the spring, last seeing action at the 2018 Fordham Quad.

Five Terriers earned one victory in singes action during the fall, with Alejandro Ridruejo's coming at the top position against Rider College. Guillermo Artiz and Pablo Blasco-Torres hold a 1-1 record as a doubles pair heading into their spring season, with both having a singles triumph to tie for the team lead in total victories with two.
