Men’s Tennis Opens Season Sunday At Delaware

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The No. 21 Concordia College New York men's tennis team plays its first match of the spring season on Sunday, Feb. 3 at Division I University of Delaware. First serve is slated for 12 p.m.

About the Clippers
Concordia begins the spring campaign after a successful fall, sweeping the ITA East Regional and claiming a pair of victories at the ITA Cup against Division II's finest on top of triumphs over Division I foes at the Fordham University Invitational. The 21st-ranked Clippers ended last spring with a 17-5 overall record, claiming its ninth Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship and advancing to the NCAA Quarterfinals.

Sophomore Michele Fenoaltea (Rome, Italy), the top-ranked individual in the opening ITA East Region rankings and No. 10 nationally, won the singles title at the ITA East Regional and finished seventh at the ITA Cup en route to an 8-2 record at the conclusion of the fall while pairing up with senior Eymeric Chevalier (Bordeaux, France) to form the seventh-ranked doubles duo nationally and No. 1 within the region behind a 6-2 record after claiming the ITA East Regional doubles crown and posting a seventh-place finish at the ITA Cup.

About the Blue Hens
Delaware (1-1) hosts the Clippers after falling to Villanova University 4-3 on Sunday, Jan. 27.

Luis Molina and Valdoleiros both hold seven victories during the academic year, with James Wilkinson sporting a 2-0 mark at the Blue Hens' top singles slot while Valdoleiros holds six total triumphs in doubles action.
