Fenoaltea and Chevalier Fall In Consolation Draws On Day Two Of ITA Cup

ROME, Ga. – The Concordia College (N.Y.) men's tennis duo of senior Eymeric Chevalier (Bordeaux, France) and sophomore Michele Fenoaltea (Rome, Italy) continued play at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Cup on Friday afternoon, with Fenoaltea falling to third-seed Jakob Schnaitter from No. 8 Azusa Pacific University in the singles consolation bracket while the pair dropped a three-set battle against Unai Amilleta Gonzalez and Cormac McCooey from No. 39 Mercyhurst University in the doubles consolation draw.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
Going up against the 47th-ranked singles player in the men's singles consolation bracket, Fenoaltea fell in his opening set against Schnaitter 6-3 before dropping the second 6-4.

Fenoaltea and Chevalier won their opening set in the doubles consolation draw 7-6 (7-4) before falling in the second frame 6-4 and 10-7 in the tiebreaker.

UP NEXT 
Play at the ITA Cup concludes tomorrow, with the pair taking on Ben Westwick and Alberto Diaz in the doubles seventh-place match with Fenoaltea seeing Chase Bartlett from No. 35 St. Edward's University in the singles seventh-place match.
