Concordia Men's Tennis Captures 2018 CACC Championship Title After a 5-0 Victory Over Chestnut Hill

MIDDLEBURY, Conn. - The Concordia Clippers men's tennis team captured the 2018 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship title on Sunday afternoon at the Edgewood Bath & Tennis Club after a 5-0 victory over Chestnut Hill College. It is Concordia's eighth CACC Championship in men's tennis since they joined the conference during the 2009-10 academic year.

In doubles play the No. 1 duo of juniors Eymeric Chevalier (Bordeaux, France) and Alessandro Evangelisti (Latina, Italy) began with an 8-3 victory over Lucas Bocaletto and Pedro Regalin as the No. 2 duo of freshman Axel Oljons (Stockholm, Sweden) and freshman William Nilsson (Bastad, Sweden) followed with an 8-4 victory against Jesus Darias and Antoine Gautier. The Clippers concluded doubles action with an 8-6 win in the No. 3 match as freshman Michele Fenoaltea (Rome, Italy) and freshman Henry Masters (Northampton, England) topped Felix Andre and Adam Gavin to give Concordia the sweep in the doubles matches.

The Clippers would take the No. 5 singles match 6-2, 6-4 as Oljons secured the victory over Regalin. The match-clinching win would come in the No. 6 match as Fenoaltea was victorious against Gavin 6-2, 6-2. The remaining four singles matches would go unfinished.

Following the match Evangelisti was named the tournament's MVP as well as being named to the CACC All-Tournament Team along with Fenoaltea, Nilsson, and Oljons.
