Clippers Men's Tennis Opens CACC Schedule with an 8-1 Win Over Post

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - The Concordia Clippers men's tennis team opened up their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) schedule on Wednesday hosting Post University at the Meyers Tennis Center as Concordia would come away with the 8-1 win.

The No. 3 duo of freshman Michele Fenoaltea (Rome, Italy) and junior Alessandro Evangelisti (Latina, Italy) began with an 8-2 victory against Peter Rossel and Samuel Urban to open up doubles play as the No. 2 duo of junior Eymeric Chevalier (Bordeaux, France) and freshman Henry Masters (Northampton, England) followed with an 8-5 victory over Ivan Rajevac and Jonathan Compres. The Clippers were unable to sweep the doubles matches as the No. 1 duo of freshman Axel Oljons (Stockholm, Sweden) and freshman William Nilsson (Bastad, Sweden) fell to Ludvig Henrikson and Nikola Crvelin, 8-2.

In singles play Chevalier would take a 7-6 (5), 6-4 win against Crvelin in the No. 1 match as Evangelisti took a 6-0, 6-1 victory in his No. 2 match against Compres. Nilsson also earned a straight set win as he topped Rajevac 6-3, 6-3 in the No. 3 match while Masters was victorious 6-3, 6-2 in the No. 4 match against Urban. Fenoaltea rolled to a 6-0, 6-1 win in his No. 6 match against Rossel while freshman Tomer Mendler (Tel Aviv, Israel) battled to a 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (6) victory against Henrikson in the No. 5 match to complete the singles sweep for Concordia.

The Clippers (10-4, 1-0 CACC) will travel to Chestnut Hill on Friday for a CACC match beginning at 3:30 p.m. in Philadelphia, Pa.
