No. 25 Men's Tennis Sweeps Wheaton (Ill.), 9-0

ORLANDO, Fla. - The 25th-ranked Concordia College men's tennis team swept Wheaton (Ill.) in their opening match of their spring break trip in Florida, 9-0, on Monday afternoon.

The Clippers began doubles play with an 8-0 victory in the No. 1 match as juniors Eymeric Chevalier (Bordeaux, France) and Alessandro Evangelisti (Latina, Italy) defeated Jeremiah Yi and Dane Paulson. The No. 2 duo of freshman Axel Oljons (Stockholm, Sweden) and freshman William Nilsson (Bastad, Sweden) followed with an 8-4 win in their match against Karl Wenzel and Anderson Park as freshman Henry Masters (Northampton, England) and freshman Michele Fenoaltea (Rome, Italy) completed the doubles sweep with an 8-2 victory against Andrew Bristol and Alexander Winters.

In singles action Fenoaltea began with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Winters in the No. 6 match as Nilsson earned a 6-1, 6-2 victory in his No. 3 match against Yi. Oljons would come out victorious over Christopher Jones 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 5 match as Evangelisti topped Paulson in the No. 2 match 6-1, 6-3. Freshman Tomer Mendler (Tel Aviv, Israel) grabbed a 6-1, 6-4 victory in his No. 4 match against Wenzel as Chevalier capped the match with a 7-6 (5), 7-5 win against Park in the No. 1 match.

Concordia (3-0) will next take on Rollins College tomorrow for a 3 p.m. match in Winter Park, Fla.
