Concordia Men's Tennis Tops St. Thomas Aquinas, 6-0

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - The Concordia College men's tennis program opened up their fall schedule on Tuesday against St. Thomas Aquinas. The Clippers would take a 6-0 victory at the Meyers Tennis Center as the match was shortened due to rain.

Doubles action began with the No. 1 duo of Alessandro Evangelisti and Eymeric Chevalier claiming an 8-4 win against Jakob Ljunberg and Luke Taplin. The No. 2 duo of William Nilsson and Axel Oljons would also capture an 8-4 victory as the pair were victorious against Andreu Ferragut and Enej Hasicevic. Concordia completed the sweep in doubles as the No. 3 duo of Henry Masters and Michele Fenoaltea battled their way to a 9-7 win over Aaron Stahl and Paul Voigt.

In singles play Chevalier topped Stahl, 8-1, in the No. 1 match while Evangelisti took an 8-2 victory against Ljunberg in the No. 3 match. Nilsson would give the Clippers their final win of the match, 8-3, in his No. 3 match against Ferragut as rain would prevent the remainder of the singles matches from finishing.

Concordia (1-0) will next participate in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) East Regionals in Flushing, N.Y. beginning on Friday. The four-day event will be co-hosted by Adelphi and Queens (N.Y.).
