Concordia’s Benas Majauskas Earns CACC Top XIV Award in Men's Tennis

New Haven, Conn. - A product of the Conference Strategic Plan, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) has announced that junior Benas Majauskas (Vilnius, Lithuania) is this year's recipient of The Top XIV Award in men's tennis. The announcement came at the men's tennis awards banquet on Friday night and the award was created to continue to elevate the stature of the academic awards in the conference.

Modeled after the NCAA Elite 89 Award, the CACC is reaffirming its commitment to recognize the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the Conference championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. The CACC Top XIV is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site for each of the CACC championships.

Majauskas, a Business Administration major, currently has a GPA of 3.86 and is the third-ranked singles player in the East Region. He and doubles partner senior Daniele Piludu (Cagliari, Italy) are the second-ranked doubles pair in Division II and the top-ranked duo in the East Region.

In order to be considered for the award, the student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in academics and athletics standing as well as a member of the active roster. If there is a tie, it will be broken by the number of credit hours earned.
