No. 6 Concordia Men's Tennis Claims 9-0 Victory over Post

Bronxville, N.Y. – The sixth-ranked Concordia Clippers men's tennis team hosted the Post University Eagles at the Meyers Tennis Center on Thursday afternoon. Concordia would claim a 9-0 victory over their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foe as the Clippers clinched the top seed in the CACC Championship Tournament following the win.

The match began with doubles play as the No. 1 duo of senior Daniele Piludu (Cagliari, Italy) and junior Juuso Ojanen (Varkaus, Finland) took an 8-0 victory over Alejandro Perez and David Narovec. Concordia would follow with two more doubles wins as the No. 2 duo of junior's Tomasz Olfans (Opole, Poland) and Benas Majauskas (Vilnius, Lithuania) defeated Nicholas Tadros and Peter Fanous, 8-2, and then senior Ricardo Frey (Curitiba, Brazil) and sophomore Rafael Ferreira (Sao Paulo, Brazil) was victorious over Tyler Ruefenacht and Jonathyn Young in the No. 3 match, 8-3.

In singles action Ojanen claimed a 6-0, 6-0 win over Tadros in the No. 1 match as did Olfans in the No. 6 match against Danny Bonamassa. Freshman Pulat Babadjanov (Tashkent, Uzbekistan) battled his way to a victory in the No. 5 match as he defeated Ruefenacht 6-2, 6-1.

The remaining singles matches would all go in favor of the Clippers 6-1, 6-0. Piludu would defeat Fanous in the No. 2 match while Majauskas was victorious over Perez in the No. 3 match and sophomore Ofir Ginat (Raa'nana, Israel) won his No. 4 match against Narovec.

Concordia (13-3, 5-0 CACC) will have a few days off until their next match. The Clippers will next travel to Teaneck, N.J. to battle Division I Fairleigh Dickinson University at 11 a.m.
