No. 6 Concordia Falls to No. 1 West Florida in Men's Tennis Action

Pensacola, Fla. – The sixth-ranked Concordia College men's tennis team faced off against the number one-ranked University of West Florida on Thursday afternoon. The Clippers were unable to knock off the undefeated Argos as Concordia dropped an 8-1 decision at the Ralph "Skeeter" Carson Tennis Complex.

The Clippers would fall behind 3-0 after doubles play as the only match victory for Concordia would come in singles action. West Florida would take a 6-0, 6-3 victory in the No. 1 match as the top-ranked singles player in NCAA Division II, Bruno Savi, won against junior Juuso Ojanen (Varkaus, Finland). Senior Daniele Piludu (Cagliari, Italy) would follow in the No. 2 singles match for the Clippers as he fell 6-3, 3-6, 10-3 against Alex Peyrot, the ninth-ranked singles player in D-II.

Concordia's lone win would come in the No. 3 singles match as junior Benas Majauskas (Vilnius, Lithuania) defeated the 38th-ranked Kenny Brasil 4-6, 6-3, 10-8. Sophomore Ofir Ginat (Raa'nana, Israel), in his No. 4 match, and sophomore Rafael Ferreira (Sao Paulo, Brazil), in his No. 5 match, were defeated in straight sets while senior Ricardo Frey (Curitiba, Brazil) would battle hard in his 0-6, 6-2, 10-3 defeat against Douglas Boe in the No. 6 match.

The Clippers (9-3, 3-0 CACC) will be back in action tomorrow afternoon as Concorida will take on William Carey back at the Ralph "Skeeter" Carson Tennis Complex.
