New Haven, Conn. – Junior Benas Majauskas (Vilnius, Lithuania) has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Week while sophomore Rafael Ferreira (Sao Paulo, Brazil) has been named the CACC Rookie of the Week in men's tennis, as announced by the CACC on Monday afternoon.
Majauskas won all of his matches last week in CACC play. He won at No. 1 singles 6-2, 6-2 and No. 1 doubles 8-1 against Caldwell on Tuesday afternoon and then against Bloomfield he won 6-1 at No. 3 singles and 6-0 at No. 1 doubles. Ferreira did not drop any games last week as he won his No. 4 singles and No. 3 doubles matches both 8-0 against Caldwell and then against Bloomfield he secured 6-0 wins in the No. 4 singles and No. 3 doubles matches.
The Clippers (7-1, 2-0 CACC) will next ravel to Georgia to take on Auburn Montgomery on Thursday, March 22nd. The match will be the first of three consecutive matches down South as Concordia will also take on #2 Armstrong and #32 Francis Marion to conclude the week.
