Concordia Assistant Coach Daniel Rockhill Named Men’s ITA Assistant Coach of the Year

Skillman, N.J. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has announced its 2013 national award winners for NCAA Division II men's and women's tennis. Concordia College Assistant Coach Daniel Rockhill was named the men's National ITA Assistant Coach of the Year, days after being named the East Region ITA Assistant Coach of the Year.

Rockhill, who is currently in his 14th season as the assistant coach of the men's tennis team at Concordia, helped guide the Clippers to a 20-2 record and a national ranking of 6th in Division II.

Daniel is now a two-time recipient of the men's National ITA Assistant Coach of the Year award after claiming top honors in 2010.

Rockhill, a graduate of Concordia in 1990, was ranked 9th nationally in doubles (1990), served as team captain (1989-1990), and is the only player in NCAA Division II history to win both singles and doubles Conference Championships in the New York Collegiate Athletic Conference and the Metropolitan Collegiate Tennis Conference in the same season (1990).

"Daniel is a phenomenal recruiter" stated Head Coach Neil Tarangioli. "His background helps him accurately evaluate prospective student-athletes and he is able to attract very talented players to Concordia from all over the world."

Rockhill also operates his own blog "The Lines Are Still Good" which follows the Clippers and other tennis happenings at http://concordiaclipperstennis.blogspot.com.
