No. 10 Concordia Captures CACC Regular Season Title after 9-0 Win at Post

Middlebury, Conn. – The 10th-ranked Concordia men's tennis team captured their fourth straight Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) regular season title after a 9-0 win over Post University on Monday afternoon.

The Clippers began the match with an 8-1 win in the #1 doubles match as senior Andrey Boldarev (Tashkent, Uzbekistan) and junior Daniele Piludu (Cagliari, Italy) defeated Peter Fanous and David Narovec. Shortly thereafter, the duo of senior's Andreas Lindell (Helsingborg, Sweden) and David Tisserand (Lyon, France) captured an 8-0 victory in their #3 match over Mateus Garcia and Danny Bonamassa.

Concordia would also take the final doubles match as sophomore's Benas Majauskas (Vilnius, Lithuania) and Juuso Ojanen (Varkaus, Finland) battled their way to an 8-4 win over the duo of Nick Tadros and Jonathyn Young.

In singles play both Piludu and Ojanen would win 6-0, 6-0 in their respective #2 and #5 matches over Fanous and Garcia. In the #3 match Tisserand would capture a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Narovec as the Clippers remained in control of the match.

Sophomore Ricardo Frey (Curitiba, Brazil) would earn a 6-2, 6-0 in his #6 match over Bonamassa while Majauskas defeated Young in the #4 match 6-2, 6-1.

Boldarev's 6-2, 6-3 win over Tadros in the #1 match would give Concordia a sweep of the Eagles as the Clippers' 9-0 victory would mark the 30 consecutive regular season win over CACC opponents since joining the conference in 2009.

Concordia (14-2, 6-0 CACC) has captured the #1 seed in the CACC Championships which is set to begin on Saturday. The Clippers will have one more match to prepare for this weekend as they will host Division I Fairleigh Dickinson University on Tuesday at 3:30pm in the Meyers Tennis Center.
