#7 Clippers Defeated by #2 West Florida, 5-1

Pensacola, FL – The seventh-ranked Concordia College Clippers men's tennis team took to the courts on Saturday afternoon to battle the second-ranked West Florida Argos. The Clippers only secured one match victory as the Argos came out on top, 5-1.

In doubles competition, Concordia's Andreas Lindell (Helsingborg, Sweden) and David Tisserand (Lyon, France) captured the lone doubles win with an 8-4 victory at #3 doubles. Ricardo Frey (Curitiba, Brazil) and Tomasz Olfans (Opole, Poland) would fall at #1 doubles, 8-2, while Geza Bazula (Budapest, Hungary) and Daniele Piludu (Cagliari, Italy) came up short in their 9-7 defeat.

The Clippers trailed 2-1 heading into singles play, as West Florida captured three straight victories to conclude the match. Bazula dropped his #2 singles match 6-3, 6-2 while Tisserand fell 6-0, 6-3. Lindell fought hard at #3 singles but would fall to defeat as well 7-6, 7-5 as the Argos took the 5-1 victory, their 15th of the season.  

Concordia (10-5, 4-0 CACC) will conclude their Florida trip on Sunday morning with their third match in three days. The Clippers will battle the fifth-ranked Valdosta State Blazers at 9am.
