Clippers sweep ASA in non-conference action

The Clippers hosted ASA in a non-conference match on Thursday afternoon.  The Clippers already started with doubles as usual. 

Andreas Lindell and David Tisserand hit at the number one doubles flight for the day.  With two game going past them early the Clipper pair stayed calm and continued to work together.  Lindell and Tisserand finished out the match collecting an 8-2 win.

Andrey Boldarev and Felix Missal teamed up again and hit in the second doubles flight.  After taking a 2-1 lead Boldarev and Missal let up two more games on their way to a victory.  The Clipper pair came away with an 8-3 victory in doubles. 

Dane Ostilly and Geza Bazula earned a win by default on their third doubles match. 

Andrey Boldarev returned to the court at the number one singles flight and was pushed a little in his match.  After 3-3 in the first set, Boldarev stepped up and was able to take the remainder of the games to take the first set 6-3.  Boldarev was pushed a little further in the second set as he earned his final break after 4-4 to take the set 6-4 for the match win.

Geza Bazula held court at the number two position through both sets.  Bazula worked hard as he was challenged with several shots in the games but still came out without losing a game for the 6-0;6-0 score.

David Tisserand was evened up at 3-3 in the first set before completing the set with a 6-3 score.  After 2-2 in the second, Tisserand broke his opponent twice and claimed the match with a 6-2 second set win.

Tamas Dobrotka took on the number four singles flight and was able to get a break on his opponent after 3-3.  Dobrokta moved on to the second set after his 6-3 first set win.  An early game passed Dobrokta by in the second set before he finished his opponent off with six straight games for the match win.

Andreas Lindell and Ricardo Frey, at the fifth and sixth singles position, won by defaults as the Clippers swept ASA.

The Clippers will head to Queens College this Monday, April 19th.
