#3 Clippers take down #14 Francis Marion 9-0

The Clippers continued their South Carolina trip as they faced off against the host school #14 Francis Marion University.  The Clippers opened up with the doubles matches and swept the matches 3-0.

Andrey Boldarev and Daniele Piludu (#6 doubles pair) faced off against the #18 doubles pair in the country and went toe to toe through the first ten games.  With a 5-5 score the Clipper pair was able to break their opponent and take the lead in the match.  Boldarev and Piludu finished out the match with an 8-5 match score.

Geza Bazula and Tamas Dobrotka were able to get two breaks of serve after the half way mark in the match.  After the breaks of serve, Bazula and Dobrotka took the match with an 8-4 victory.

Andreas Lindell and David Tisserand were matched up to 5-5 before they were able to gain an edge on their opponents.  Lindell and Tisserand collected the next three games and took the 8-5 win for the Clippers sweep in doubles.

Andrey Boldarev (#10 singles player) faced off against the #8 singles player.  Boldarev fell in the first set 3-6.  With the second set upon him, Boldarev was able to turn the tide of the game to his favor as he pushed the second set to a tie breaker.  Boldarev was able to get a 7-4 win in the tie breaker for the 7-6 win in the second set and forced a deciding third set.  Boldarev kept his momentum going in the third set as he was bale to break his opponent and grab the 6-3 third set win.

Daniel Piludu (#28 singles player) dropped the first set as well to his opponent 3-6.  Piludu then dominated in the second set as he only let slip one game for the 6-1 second set win to force a third set tie breaker.  Piludu traded points with his opponent through 8-8.  Piludu then grabbed the next to points for the 10-8 third set win.

David Tisserand had a little trouble in the third singles flight.  With just two games slipping past him in the first set, Tisserand finished out the set witha 6-2 victory.  Tisserand then matched his first set up with a repeat second set.  Wiht two service breaks going Tisserand's way, he finished the match with a 6-2 second set win.

Tamas Dobrotka, hitting at the number four singles flight let just three games slip past throughout his entire match.  Dobrotka took the first set with two service breaks to gain the 6-2 win and then followed it up with two more service breaks to take the second set 6-1.

Felix Missal followed up Dobrotka's match with matching scoring.  Missal worked hard on court and gained the two service breaks over his opponent to collect a first set score of 6-2. Missal then stepped up and let only one game slip past him in the second set for the 6-1 win.

Finishing out the Clippers line-up was Andreas Lindell as he found very little trouble at the number six flight.  Lindell let an early game slip past him in the first set before stepping up with his dominating presence for the 6-1 win.  Lindell then repeated his score as he continued to play well for another 6-1 set win.

The Clippers swept Francis Marion with a 9-0 score and will take on University of South Carolina Aiken to finish out their South Carolina trip tomorrow, April 9th.
