The Clippers hosted the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia Devils today for one of the two CACC Semifinal matches.

The doubles matches were up first as usual for the Clippers crew.  Alex Grubin and Andrey Boldarev were up at the number one doubles position for the match.  Grubin and Boldarev took the first game of the match with ease.  As they progress through the match the Devils were able to squeak a game in for their side.  Grubin and Boldarev finished out the match with a few overhead winners and a couple of aces and an 8-1 score.

Felix Missal and Raphael Namias, at the number two doubles position, fell behind from the start as their Devils opponents took the first game.  The match stayed on serve through 4-3 in favor of the Clippers before Missal and Namias turned on the after burners and finished out the match.  With the 8-3 score Missal and Namias added another point to the Clippers total.

Tamas Dobrotka and Andreas Lindell, playing at the number three position, were dominate from the start.  With four breaks of serve, Dobrotka and Lindell did not surrender one game to the Devils and added the third point for the Clippers with th 8-0 score.

The singles matches followed up after a short break from the doubles.  Andrey Boldarev was playing well at the number to singles spot as he was holding court.  With just one game that went the Devils way in the first set Boldarev took the 6-1 set win.  With a powerful forehand, Boldarev completely dominated in the second set not allowing his opponet to get to close or to gain a game.  With a 6-0 second set score from Boldarev the Clippers were just one point away from their first CACC Championship match.

Felix Missal, playing at the number three singles position, was also dominating in his match.  After surrendering just one game in the first set, Missal then picked up his game and earned himself several forehand winners to gain the first set win of 6-1.  The second set saw more of the same from Missal with forehand winners and a few aces thrown in.   As he broke his opponent three times, Missal cruised his way to a 6-0 second set victory and put the Clippers in the finals.

The Clippers will face the winner of the #3 Chestnut Hill College/#2 Philadelphia University match on Thursday, April 22nd at 3:00pm on the campus of Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, PA.
