ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. – Facing a 2-0 deficit early in the second half on Thursday evening, the Concordia College New York men's soccer team rallied back to knot the score behind goals from junior forwards Dennis Limani (Norderstedt, Germany) and Nemanja Zivanovic (Belgrade, Serbia) only for a score by host Molloy in the final 30 seconds halting the Clippers' come-from-behind victory hopes in a 3-2 decision.
NOTES
• Concordia falls to 7-10 overall.
• Molloy improves to 11-5-1.
• Zivanovic moves into a tie for eighth in the program record book with his 14th goal of the season, while his 33 points moves him into the top-10.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Zivanovic tallied a goal and assist while taking a team-high three shots with one on target.
• Limani's fourth goal came off of his lone shot attempt.
• Senior defender Ricardo Velazquez (Bronx, N.Y.) recorded his first assist since his freshman campaign.
• Senior keeper Mario Lamacchia (Baldwin, N.Y.) stopped six shots while allowing two goals in 61 minutes in goal.
• For Molloy, Oscar Magnusson registered a goal and assist with Angelo Bordenca and Matt Miller each scoring one goal while Danny Muir, Nick Bigilin and Anthony Cestaro all tallied an assist.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Muir found Bordenca in the eighth minute to give Molloy a 1-0 advantage.
• Miller added to the separation in the 47th minute off passes from Bigilin and Magnusson.
• Limani cut the deficit in half at 2-1 in the 65th minute off a pass from Zivanovic.
• Velazquez connected with Zivanovic in the 73rd minute to knot the score at 2-all.
• Magnusson kept the match from going to overtime with a goal in the final minute off a pass from Cestaro.
