Men’s Soccer Concludes Home Schedule With 5-0 Setback To Eighth-Ranked Wilmington

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Concordia College New York men's soccer team concluded its home and Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) regular-season schedule on Saturday afternoon, holding eighth-ranked nationally Wilmington University to one goal in the opening half before the nation's top-scoring offense scored four times in the second half for a 5-0 result.

NOTES
• Concordia falls to 7-8 overall, 6-6 in CACC play.

• Wilmington improves to 16-1-1, 10-1-1 in league action.

STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Junior forward Nemanja Zivanovic (Belgrade, Serbia) took a team-high six shots with one on goal.

• Junior keeper Mikael Varin (Toulouse, France) stopped eight shots

• For Wilmington, Shawn Genus, Abdul Mansaray and Fredrick Bentdal all tallied one goal and one assist while Lorne Bickley and Mamadou Diombera each scored once and Dimitrios Topouzlis dished out a pair of assists.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED 
• A pair of quick passes in the eight minute got the ball to Bickley for the opening goal of the game.

• Bentdal and Mansaray scored in the 51st and 57th minute to push Wilmington to a 3-0 lead.

• Genus found the back of the net in the 67th minute to give the Wildcats a 4-0 advantage.

• Diombera created the final score with a goal in the 77th minute.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE 
• Concordia took 13 shots with four on target, Wilmington fired 26 with 14 on goal.

• Wilmington held a 14-4 advantage in corner kicks.

• Concordia received two cautions, Wilmington got one.
