Men’s Soccer Victorious In Back-And-Forth Match At Nyack, 4-3

ORANGEBURG, N.Y. – Junior midfielders Freddy Nava (Yonkers, N.Y.) and Elad Katz (Tel Aviv, Isreal) both contributed a goal and assist for the Concordia College (N.Y.) men's soccer team on Thursday afternoon, propelling the Clippers past host Nyack 4-3 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match.

Notes 
• Concordia improves to 3-3-1 overall, 3-2 in CACC action.

• Nyack drops to 1-8, 0-5 in league play.

STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Nava took two shots with both on target. It is the first time he has scored and goal and logged an assist in the same match as a Clipper.

• Katz took three shots with one on target. It's his first collegiate outing with a goal and assist.

• Sophomore forward Dennis Limani (Norderstedt, Germany) scored one goal off five shots.

• Freshman forward Marlon Buck (Vienna, Austria) scored his second-consecutive game-winning goal, taking three shots in the match with all on target.

• Junior defender Romardo Bigsby (Kingston, Jamaica) and senior defender Chris Panzenbeck (Lundenhurst, N.Y.) each tallied an assist.

• Junior goalkeeper Mario Lamacchia (Baldwin, N.Y.) earned his second-consecutive victory in goal, logging 78:08 minutes.

• For Nyack, Paul Montufar, Mitchell Reed and Daniel Larson all scored goals.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
• Nyack used a cross from Antulio Cositorto in the fourth minute to Larson to put the Warriors ahead early 1-0.

• Concordia got on the scoreboard in the 15th minute, as Katz pushed the ball down the field and passed to Limani who easily put the ball past the keeper to even the score at 1-1.

• The Clippers took the lead in the 23rd minute, as Bigsby intercepted a Nyack pass and found Nava who put Concordia ahead 2-1.

• Nyack evened the score before halftime with a Montufar goal from outside the box off a pass from Lucas Honorio in the 37th minute.

• Concordia took a 3-2 lead in the 51st minute on a header from Katz off a pass from Nava.

• Reed evened the score at 3-all in the 67th minute off a cross from Bengamin Wasem.

• Panzenbeck found Buck in the 79th minute who beat the Warriors' goalie for the game-winning score..

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE 
• Concordia took 15 shots with seven on target versus nine with five on frame for Nyack.

• Concordia held a 7-5 advantage in corner kicks

• Concordia received two cautions while Nyack received four.

Concordia heads to Wilmington (Del.) on Saturday, Sept. 28 for a 3 p.m. CACC match against the Wildcats.
