Concordia Falls to Bloomfield, 8-1

Purchase, NY –The Concordia College Clippers men's soccer team faced off against Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opponent Bloomfield this afternoon. The Deacons came away with the 8-1 victory behind Terry Gibbs' (London, England) hat-trick.

Within the first 10 minutes of play, the Deacons scored twice to gain an early lead. Five minutes later they would tack on another goal off a turnover by the Clippers. Bloomfield netted their fourth goal of the half at the 37 minute mark to take a 4-0 lead.

To begin the second half, the Clippers came out looking to get back into the game. Richard Heredia (Patchoque, NY) scored two minutes into the half off a corner kick from Mario Fantozzi (Naples, Italy) to make it 4-1.

Concordia was unable to make a comeback as the Deacons managed to score four goals in the half to secure their second win of the season. Clippers' goalkeeper, Oscar Acosta-Mendez (Bogota, Columbia) recorded two saves while Daniel Hyde (East Orange, NJ) made three saves for the Deacons.

Concordia (2-6, 2-3 CACC) will take a break from conference play as they travel to face St. Rose on Monday. The 6:30pm game will take place in Albany, NY and can be followed via Live Stats on ConcordiaClippers.com.
