Round Two Of Penmen Spring Invitational Cancelled; Men’s Golf Finishes Fifth

CONCORD, N.H. - The second round of the Penmen Spring Invitational has been cancelled due to weather, with the Concordia College New York men's golf team finishing fifth behind its 300 (+12) first-round score.

NOTES
• The Penmen Spring Invitational features 68 participants from 11 programs.

• Franklin Pierce University finished first with a 289 (+1) team score.

• Ryan Rucinski, Matt Paradis, Sam Myers, Jonathan Petrin and Enrique Valverde all recorded a 70 (-2) score to tie for first individually.

• Freshman Gabe Goodman (Lakewood, Colo.) set his career-low at the Penmen Spring Invitational with a 71 (-1) outing yesterday, matching senior Kanoon Bunthanawong (Chonburi, Thailand) for the lowest 18-round score this season.

• The Clippers went 1-1 against fellow Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) programs, finishing ahead of Post University who shot 302 (+14) and behind Wilmington University (Del.) who finished three strokes ahead of Concordia with a 297 (+9) tally.

• Concordia, ranked ninth in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) East Region Poll, went 2-4 against regionally-ranked teams, placing ahead of eighth-ranked Post and fifth-ranked Assumption while No. 1 Franklin Pierce University, second-ranked Southern New Hampshire University, seventh-ranked St. Thomas Aquinas College and 10th-ranked Wilmington.

The men's golf team travels to Lafayette Hill, Pa. on Monday, April 22 to take part in a tri-match hosted by Jefferson University.
