Two Top-Five Finishers Leads Men’s Golf To Second Place At Mike Bello Spring Invite

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Junior Tyler Lanza (New Milford, Conn.) fired a season-low 72 card during the second round of the Mike Bello Spring Invite, the best outing of any individual in the field on Friday, placing him into the top-five individually with sophomore Minwoo Park (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) maintaining his position in the top-five to propel the Concordia College New York men's golf team to a second-place finish behind a 608 (+40) team score.

NOTES
• The Mike Bello Spring Invite featured 12 programs and 72 participants

• Laval University, an international team and not NCAA eligible, finished first with a 602 (+34) team score.

• The Clippers finished ahead of fellow Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) programs Post University, Dominican College (N.Y.), Felician University and Goldey-Beacom College who recorded rounds of 620 (+52), 624 (+56), 629 (+61) and 642 (+74)

• Arthur Heinkele from Laval finished atop the individual leaderboard with a 146 (+4) final score.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• Lanza ended play in a tie for third with a 148 (+6) overall score.

• Park shot a 75 in the second round to creep up the individual leaderboard and end play in a tie for third with a 148 (+6) score.

• Freshman Gabe Goodman (Lakewood, Colo.) ended play 21st overall with a 155 (+12) tally after shooting an 80 in the second round.

• Senior Kanoon Bunthanawong (Chonburi, Thailand) used a 79 card in the second round to end play 29th with a 157 (+15) final score.

• Sophomore Santiago Luna (Bogota, Columbia) fired an 85 second round to finish in a tie for 50th with a 163 (+21) score.

The men's golf team travels to the Penmen Spring Invitational in Concord, N.H. on Friday, April 19 with play continuing on Saturday, April 20.
