Seniors Lead Men’s Golf To Third-Place Finish At Charger Spring Classic

BERLIN, Md. – Led by top-10 finishes from senior Evan Hong (Houston, Texas) and Kanoon Bunthanawong (Chonburi, Thailand), the Concordia College New York men's golf team finished play at the Charger Spring Classic third place as a team with a 605 (+29) final score.

NOTES
• The Charger Spring Classic featured nine programs and 47 student-athletes.

• St. Thomas Aquinas College finished first with a 597 (+21) score. Host Dominican College finished ahead of the Clippers with a 599 (+23) card, using the lowest second round in the field to take second place.

• STAC's Jake Yarmolowitz finished first individually with a 143 (-1) score.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Hong opened play with a season-best 73 card in the opening round, following with a 76 round-two score for a season-best 149 (+5) score that placed sixth in the individual leaderboard.

• Bunthanawong fired a season-low 72 in the opening round and 78 in the second for a season-best 150 (+6) card that tied for seventh in the field.

• Freshman Gabe Goodman (Lakewood, Colo.) used a 74 second-round score after ending the opening round with a 78 card to finish 12 with a 152 (+8) score.

• Sophomore Minwoo Park (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) finished in a tie for 14th with a 154 (+10) score behind rounds of 75 and 79.

• Junior Tyler Lanza (New Milford, Conn.) rounded out the lineup with a 167 (+23) score off rounds of 83 and 84 to finish 38th.

UP NEXT
The Clippers travel to Goldsboro, N.C. to participate in the University of Mount Olive Spring Invitational on Monday, April 1, with play continuing on Tuesday, April 2.
